Competition / Tours

WP championships 9th and 10th March 2012

Entry forms for both the Semi-and-full contact components can be downloaded here. Kindly note the tabs with the options for the various divisions. Only these forms will be considered for entries and no other forms will be accepted.

There has been a request to include more divisions in the Knockdown component, however the KAWP can only accommodate the divisions as prescribed by KSA which is in the current rule book. Unless these additions are adopted by KSA only then will we be able to oblige our members.

It is imperative that the tournament meetings are attended by all affiliates in order for the KAWP to run a successful tournament where everyone's input can be heard. The rules as prescribed and ratified by KSA is and will be non negotiable. We thus ask the FC members to familiarise themselves with those rules.

Note that this is a tournament and not trials. The first four place winners will automatically form the WP Squad. Medals will be awarded to the first four winners.

We have a Referee's Commission in place headed by Hanshi Nellie Kleinsmidt which comprises of both SC and FC. Sensei Abubakr Petersen and Muhsin Shaik is the responsible persons for the FC. Wendy Jansen and Ruqiya Abrahams will head the table officials commission and will be the responsible persons for conducting training.

ALL QUERIES OR COMPLAINTS at the tournament will be supervised by Brian Lakey accompanied in writing and a R500-00 fee. Mr Lakey will then direct your complaint to the relevant authority. This is the only way that any complaints at the tournament will be handled.

NB ALL OTHER CORRESPONDENCE AND THOSE LEADING TO THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT WILL ONLY BE ACKNOWLEDGED IF SENT VIA THE GENERAL SECRETARY of the KAWP.

REFEREES & OFFICIALS TRAINING

A referee’s and officials training session will be held on:
Saturday 25 February

For the WKF component, a refreshers course will be done on the new WKF rules. This is for both components – ie. Semi Contact and Full Contact.

AWARDS

A suggestion was made that the Awards Ceremony for 2011 be included with the tournament was considered, but will not be possible due to the logistics involved. However, members of the EC is looking into it and you will be advised. Badges and certificates will be issued at this event.

KAWP membership certificates will be issued at the tournament.

Thank You for your support and looking forward to presenting a well-run and enjoyable tournament to all
