Marius currently serves as the Western Cape Tenshinkan Chief instructor. He started training at the age of 7 with Sensei Des Botes in Harare. He then joined Tenshinkan when he moved to South Africa.
He currently holds the rank of Go Dan which he obtained in Japan in 2003. He is also a qualified WP and National referee.
He has travelled to America and Japan on various occasions to develop himself in the style of Tenshinkan Karate.
He is an active member of the Karate Association of Western Province.
