Clive Eksteen started his karate career at the age of 10 in District 6 under the tutelage of Sensei A. de Vries. He was schooled in the art of shotokan ryu until he moved to Gauteng in 1978 where he studied Okinawan Goju Ryu with Sensei Glen Popham. He returned to Cape Town in 1996 where he furthered his study of shotokan karate.
He is currently the convenor of coaches in the Western Province,the coach of the Western Cape karate all-styles team and serves on the panel of coaches of the S.A. national all-styles karate team.
He presently holds the rank of godan in shotokan and shodan in Okinawan Goju-ryu and is the chief instructor of the Shotokan Karate Association (SKA) with dojo’s in the Western Cape,Gauteng and Kwa-Zulu Natal.
